Lost Ark is, already, the second best performer on Steam of all time, when it comes to concurrent players. But this number (1,324,761) could have been much higher if the servers had not encountered many problems. Indeed, like New World a few months ago, the massive influx of players created traffic jams, requiring some users to wait several hours before finally accessing Lost Ark. During the day of this Sunday, February 13, it was even impossible to try to join a server, as there were so many players.
Aware of the problem, the developers had already launched new servers in the “Central Europe” region, in order to relieve the most popular ones. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough, and there are still long queues. In an attempt to reduce these expectations and provide a more fun experience, Amazon Games has announced that a brand new region, for Europe, is coming. We don’t have a release date yet, but it should happen pretty soon.
Arkesia is filled to the brim with eager players, which is why we’re working as fast as we can to set up a brand new region of servers in Europe.
As you might expect, adding a new region is not such a simple ordeal. A multitude of tests must be carried out, so that the developers make sure that this addition will not cause other problems, which explains why it is necessary to wait a little longer. Since this will be a separate region from the one already present, regional features will not be included. This new region is mainly intended for those who have not started, or made little progress in Lost Ark.
