Lost Ark: Developers apologize for the release of Argos and pay-to-win printing – Lost Ark

In early March, Lost Ark players were able to experience the first content update, less than a month after its canon launch on Steam. Among the novelties introduced, we found an Abyssal Raid, Argos, which was not intended for all players. It required a relatively high item level to participate, which prompted the community to question the intentions of the developers, since some wondered if this addition was not intended to encourage players to spend money in game, to get better items.

In a long post on the official website, Amazon Games and Smilegate apologize for the misunderstanding, and that they had no intention of forcing players in their progressionto reach item level 1370. Besides, the Raid could have been available from launch, but the teams preferred “ consider the Abyssal Raid as a milestone, bridging the gap to end-game activities that haven’t yet launched in the western version of Lost Ark “.

Going forward, the studio will be moving away from this kind of advanced end-game content, to focus more on updates that allow Lost Ark players to progress with currently available content. Of course, endgame content will be added later, but probably not as quickly as expected.

Our goal is to provide fun content for players, even if it’s at a higher level, while never making players feel the pressure that they have to pay to progress.

We’ll know more in the coming weeks about upcoming content, though a since-deleted roadmap specified adding two classes and a region by late spring.
