Lost Ark March 4 Update Patch Notes

BALANCE CHANGES

Before we dive into the nitty-gritty, we wanted to share our balance thinking for some of the Tier 1 and 2 Guardian Raids and Abyss Dungeons.

It’s been less than a month since hordes of heroes arrived on the western shores of Archesia. Many players are still discovering and learning to use the advanced systems that govern their adventures, whether it’s finding the perfect placement for their ability points in the tripod system or customizing their playstyle with engravings, runes skill or gems. We watched with enthusiasm and humility as more or less experienced players try to reach level 50 before being confronted with the various contents of tiers 1 and 2, progressing little by little and exploring the range of possibilities offered in Archesia.

In other regions, players had to spend some time in Tiers 1 and 2 since Tier 3 was not yet available there. Given the time they had spent at this stage of the game, they had been able to study the schematics and mechanics of the guardians and demons they had encountered there and only a few monsters were still a real challenge for them. As the game developed and more content was added, the time and progress required for Tiers 1 and 2 decreased. Tier 1, 2, and 3 content was already present on the western release of Lost Ark. Tiers 1 and 2 are designed as a prologue to the rich end-game content unveiled in Tier 3 that Smilegate RPG has been developing since the game’s initial release. We hope Tiers 1 and 2 will encourage players to explore the vast world of Archesia and will be used to understand the many systems of Lost Ark as well as the complex mechanics of battles.

Due to the difference in objectives for Tier 1 and 2 in our region, overly difficult Abyss Guardians and Dungeons have been left out. This balance change isn’t just about adjusting the overall difficulty. Rather, the idea is to improve certain difficulty schemes to better prepare players as they progress through tiers, all the way to Tier 3 endgame content.

Our goal is for players to progress through increasingly difficult and complex content throughout their adventure. There’s still a lot of tough Tier 3 content to be added to the western version of the game, so be sure to check out our roadmap article to find out what to expect in the coming months. These upcoming encounters will be as many obstacles to overcome, systems to master and complex mechanics to understand. Starting this month, Argos will be a ruthless adversary and a challenge for anyone who likes to describe themselves as heroes of Archesia.
