The 49-year-old stepped into the floods of the Frutz in Rankweil on Sunday afternoon to cool off. He suddenly passed out and went under. Fortunately, the swimming accident was noticed. The man’s family provided first aid. A nurse who happened to be present helped her.
The man could only be rescued from the river bed with a water rescue and fire brigade, as the terrain there is very steep. The 49-year-old was finally flown to the Bludenz hospital in the C8 rescue helicopter.
