With ten points, FC Bayern are behind at the start of the last quarter, while their opponents ZSKA Moscow are considered by many to be the best team in Europe. The Munich basketball players don't care, thanks to a brilliant final phase, there is an important step towards the Euroleague playoffs in the end.

The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich surprisingly won the Euroleague against title favorite CSKA Moscow. Thanks to a strong final quarter, the Bundesliga team won 69:66 (40:39) in front of the unfamiliar crowd of 4516 spectators and is on the playoff course with 14: 9 wins after 23 match days.

Thanks to a strong performance by Wade Baldwin, the guests went into the break with a one-point lead in a match that was balanced over long distances. The American scored 14 of his 22 points in the first two quarters and had a large share in the narrow half-time lead. Even after the break, it was a close encounter until the 35th minute (50:49). After that, however, nothing worked at Bayern. By the end of the third round, the German top team didn't score a single point. CSKA pulled away to 60:50. Time and again, Moscow came to simple points through Darrun Hilliard.

But the Munich came back with the Euroleague winner of 2019. The Munich team turned the match around with a 13-2 run and were 63:62 with two and a half minutes to go. In the final phase, both clubs missed a preliminary decision due to individual mistakes. After D.J. Seeley increased to 69:66 with a converted free throw 7.1 seconds before the siren, the surprise was perfect. For the team of coach Andrea Trinchieri it was the first Euroleague victory against ZSKA in the eighth attempt.

In addition to Baldwin and Seeley, Jalen Reynolds was a guarantee of success for the Munich team, who required 17 throws for his 16 points, but also set important accents with eight rebounds and four steals. On the side of the favorite, who fell back to second with nine 16: 7 successes due to the simultaneous victory of FC Barcelona (17: 6), Nikola Milutiniv (16) and Hilliard (15) were the best point collectors. The German international Johannes Voigtmann had eight points and three rebounds for CSKA in 15 minutes of play.
