Lost Records: Bloom & Rage details its distribution format and introduces its heroine in video

It was this Monday evening that the annual edition of theID@Xbox Showcase in partnership with IGN. Among the games which we were assured of the presence was Lost Records: Bloom & Ragethe next title of DON’T NOD Montreal unveiled last December during the Game Awardsa sort of spiritual successor to the license Life is Strange which will be the first project of this new universe, at least if success is evident. At the time, the teaser with a well-assumed retro aesthetic showed us some adventures of the group of four high school girls that we will follow in the 90s (Swann, Nora, Autumn And Kate)leaving us with some questions in mind about the purple glow at its very end, linked to events that will change their lives and bring them together 27 years later. This time the trailer Lo-fi Summer focuses on the heroine we will control: Swann.

In conclusion of these sequences at Velvet Covea fictional town in Michigan, filmed like a camcorder, the young Swann Holloway faces the camera and declares that the reason we found this video is because she is dead… before laughing. Clearly, this doesn’t advance us any further in terms of plot.

On the other hand, the press release accompanying the trailer reveals an important detail concerning the marketing of the game. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will in fact be divided into two parts, an episodic format that is well known DON’T NOD. The wait will be short, however, because their releases will only be postponed by one month. The reason given is to allow players to discuss the story, to theorize and to increase anticipation for the sequel. Not sure everyone will like it.

In passing, we learn that the soundtrack will mix original titles created for the occasion with licensed music, the kind of practice that could cause concern in the future when rights expire. The one in the video was written and performed by Ruth Radelet, Adam Miller and Nat Walker.

At the start of the summer, Swann meets a circle of friends made up of Nora, Autumn and Kat. She will develop close bonds with each of them: Nora, a rebellious soul, eccentric and overflowing with energy; Autumn, the leader of the group, thoughtful and charismatic; and Kat, pragmatic, strong-willed and enigmatic. In that fateful summer of 1995, four personalities with very different perspectives come together to uncover secrets that will forever bind – and break – their group.

Will the girls manage to find a balance between them, a harmony, or will they be prey to conflicts as complicated as they are unforgettable?
