Macabre discovery in the stairwell of a building in the Lot, Saturday, December 17, in the city center of Cahors. An investigation was opened by the Cahors prosecutor’s office for “voluntary homicide”.

The bleeding body of a man in his fifties was found in the stairwell of a building in the center of Cahors in the Lot, this December 17, 2022 at eight o’clock in the morning. The discovery took place near the town hall.

Several traces of injury and police custody

The body of the victim found dead bore numerous traces of injuries and was covered in blood when he was found on Saturday December 17 in the early morning. The building where this man in his fifties lay is located rue Fondue-Basse, near the town hall of Cahors. The public prosecutor of Cahors has opened an investigation for intentional homicide that he entrusted to the Toulouse judicial police services. According to Alexandre Rossi, there is indeed no doubt about the criminal nature of the facts, given the circumstances in which the man was found. No other element could at this stage explain the conditions in which the tragedy had occurred.

On the same day, another resident of Cahors was placed in police custody in the wake of these facts and was still there on Sunday December 18. He is a man in his sixties. According to the “Depeche”, the individual placed in police custody already has a criminal record dating back twenty years. The police carried out their hearings, according to our colleagues from Le Parisien, and a neighborhood investigation was also carried out. It was following these investigations that according to CNEWS, the man was transferred to the criminal center to be indicted for murder in connection with this case Monday, December 19.
