The presenter of the American lottery Mega Millions made a mistake during last Tuesday’s draw. He confused the 6 and the 9, resulting in a temporary suspension of ticket payments.
John Crow correctly announced the first five winning numbers, CNN reported. However, when drawing the complementary ball, the announcer announced the 6 instead of the 9, as can be seen on the video posted on the Mega Millions channel.
In the caption of the sequence, the company specified that it was indeed the ball with the number 9 which was released and therefore incorporated into the official result.
The jackpot for this draw was 86 million dollars (82.6 million euros) but no ticket ticked the right numbers to claim this loot.
Erroneous payments automatically recovered
