Lots of celebrities – prelude: Let the Whitsun Festival begin

The premiere of the Salzburg Whitsun Festival attracted a lot of celebrities to the city of Mozart on Friday. The opera “La Clemenza di Tito” opened the four-day classical music festival.

The Whitsun Festival is considered a dress rehearsal by classical music lovers – for the “big” festival starting in July. So the ladies and gentlemen of high society had to practice the parade on Friday evenings for the summer. The appearance of this art quartet is already perfect: gallery owner Thaddaeus Ropac, Louise Blouin, Ariane Dandois and Pierre Pelegry. As a festival regular, Ropac stated during the break after the first half: “It’s rare that an opera can be translated into the modern era in this way. But here at ‘La Clemenza di Tito’ it was successful, I like it.”Elisabeth Princess von Auersperg-Breunner also presented herself as modern – in a fashion sense – with a richly embroidered dress. Festival President Kristina Hammer relied on color, Baroness Eva-Maria von Schilgen wrapped herself in a creation by German designer Susanne Wiebe. Even the typical Salzburg rain couldn’t harm them.
