90s and slasher atmosphere
The story of this fictional event, which is divided into eight 26-minute episodes, begins in 1998 in Palavas-les-Flots. While the World Cup is in full swing, Sandrine Laplace, a clumsy contract worker who thinks she’s a CIA agent, decides to investigate a mysterious accident that occurred on the ghost train at the local fairground.
Incompetent but reckless, Sandrine infiltrates a merciless world – made of clan wars, cotton candy and bumper cars – and will have to form an alliance with Carmen and Yvane, two fairground people who are completely opposed to each other. What if there was a killer at the carnival?
To play the main roles in this project, as ambitious as it is zany, creators Nikola Lange and Thomas Mansuy brought together sisters Audrey and Alexandra Lamy for the first time on screen with Chloé Jouannet, the latter’s daughter. A first for the family of actresses, all three of whom had never filmed before!
Audrey Lamy’s fear
Moreover, even if Audrey Lamy was delighted at the idea of working with the members of her clan, this new configuration still worried the former star of Scènes de households on M6. Speaking to AlloCiné, the actress explained this fear she had before the start of filming: “I said to myself: ‘What will it be like to work with family?’“
“We adore each other, we are accomplices, we call each other all the time, we know that we love each other, she continued. But will we really succeed in working together? There are plenty of families who hate each other at work. However, when I saw this caring attitude between us and the time savings of working as a family, I said to myself, ‘Okay, there you go. We know today that we can work together!’“
Audrey Lamy concluded in these terms: “The three of us have a lot of energy. I think that’s really the thing we have in common! So I also asked myself: ‘Isn’t this going to go in all directions?’ And actually, I was pleasantly surprised! (…) Once we were on set, the three of us really felt like real partners.“The door is open to future collaborations? We hope so!
