Lotus is also making its electric revolution, and this involves an SUV with the sweet name of Eletre R, in addition to other versions of the Eletre model.

It’s the brand’s first-ever ‘zero-emissions’ SUV, and it’s as powerful as it is expensive.

Lotus Eletre: three electric SUVs, or nothing

At the start of the year, the manufacturer Lotus had already formalized its first electric SUV: Eletre. This XXL vehicle with its imposing size seemed far from the brand’s standards, but came to meet an ever-increasing demand from motorists for this type of model.

Today, Lotus has formalized three versions of this Eletre SUV. All obviously have a 100% electric motor, but only one is able to display a power flirting with… 1,000 hp!

An R version with 905 hp!

Indeed, in the Lotus Eletre family, the flagship of the range will be symbolized by the Eletre R model, which will be able to count on a double electric motorization, for a total power of 905 hp (and 985 Nm of torque). Added to this are a redesigned chassis, launch control, a carbon fiber sports bonnet and steering wheels.

The entry-level will be equipped with a 603 hp electric motor, just like the Eletre S version which will be distinguished (among other things) by an active rear spoiler, exclusive ambient lighting of the electro-chrome mirrors, without forgetting an air purifier on board and an audio system made up of 23 speakers.

In terms of autonomy, the Lotus Eletre R is given for around 490 km, when the versions equipped with a single electric motor should flirt with 600 km, all thanks to a 112 kWh battery. In terms of performance, the Eletre and Eletre S can climb to 258 km/h, against 265 km/h for the R model, not to mention a 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds.

This SUV is therefore reserved for the less sporty, but it will also give pride of place to comfort and modernity. There are a total of five driving modes, active air suspension, Full LED headlights and large 20-inch rims. Finally, we can note the presence on board of a 29-inch control screen, in addition to a 15.1-inch touch screen.

Price and availability

For those interested, Lotus has already formalized the prices of its Eletre SUV, which will be displayed from 96,890 euros for the basic version. The S version will require for its part to pay 122,000 euros, when the ultimate Eletre R version will be offered at 152,000 euros.

Their arrival is scheduled for concessions in the course of 2024.
