2024 marks Lou Doillon’s first year without her missing mother. So, Sunday December 31, the singer wanted to pay him a discreet tribute in the caption of a publication on her Instagram account. Under a carousel of photographs, Jane Birkin’s daughter writes: “Goodbye 2023. From now on everything will be new and without you.”
To illustrate this sweet message, the interpreter of One Day After Another shared some images. In the first photograph, we see Laszlo, the artist’s second son – now one and a half years old – looking out the window, hat screwed on his head. In the next, the companion of the illustrator Stéphane Manel climbs to the top of a stepladder, while the little boy clings to the bars. All against the backdrop of a desert field. In this jumble, the 41-year-old actress reveals moments of life. We see in particular his last born playing on the floor, then his high chair. Charlotte Gainsbourg’s sister also shows her guitar, part of her meal, a piece of sky… So many everyday moments that close out the year 2023.
Rain of tributes
If Lou Doillon remains very discreet about her private life, she does not hesitate to pay tribute to the people she loved through her social networks. On December 11, Jacques Doillon’s daughter unveiled a trio of photographs of Kate Barry, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of her death. First, we see a portrait of the daughter of John Barry and Jane Birkin. In the following photo, a child Kate Barry can be seen in the arms of her mother. In the last image, the actress immortalized Laszlo, in the process of to pay homage to the flowery grave of the photographer who died tragically.
Three days later, Lou Doillon decided to pay tribute to his mother. On the occasion of the birthday of her mother, who would have been 77 years old, the one who played Camille in Too (little) love – produced in 1998 by Jacques Doillon -, revealed a photograph of Jane Birkin’s driving license. In this previously unpublished image of the pink paper, we see the most French of English women, staring into space.
