Louane (Visions) soon in a long-term series? She says it all

For her first role on television, the former candidate of The Voice embodies a psychologist who helps a young boy whose visions could unlock an investigation, in Visions, to see Monday May 23 at 9:10 p.m. on TF1. Meeting at the CannesSéries festival.

What attracted you to this project?

LOUANE EMERA: I had never really played with a child, except when I was a child myself. I met Leon (Hardy, who plays Diego, editor’s note) and it immediately matched. The mystical side also interested me a lot. On the set, we were all more or less affected by mediumship. Of course, it resonated with me (she lost both parents, editor’s note).

Was this first experience for television different from what you knew in the cinema?

It was much nicer than the cinema, because there is less waiting. My hyperactive side took over!

Visions is a miniseries with a conclusion. Did that make you want to play a character in a series that would come back with several seasons, over several years?

Why not. Honestly, it’s hard for me to commit so much because I have my music career on the side. It’s very special to invest yourself for so long. In any case, I want to continue to turn, particularly at this time.

But music is my first passion. In my life, she will always have the advantage over everything, except over my family of course!

How did you prepare for this role of psychologist?

I have not met a psychologist, except mine! (Laughs.) On the other hand, I prepared myself with a coach who was with me on the set because it’s still my first steps as an actress. And my little sister is in psychiatry. We both talked a lot.

Were there sequences that were more difficult to shoot than others?

There were certain scenes that I dreaded a lot, which were those of a couple and intimacy. But I was lucky to have a partner Soufiane Guerrab, who was very respectful and helped me a lot. There’s also a stunt sequence at the end that was particularly grueling.

What did you think of the film’s Oscar success Coda, the remake of The Aries Family?

It is a story that touches the public. We saw it in France… I was going to say “at the time”! I was 16 and it will soon be ten years, so I can afford it! It’s crazy that this story can cross oceans and still speak to people. But it’s written with such tenderness and with such openness to the world that honestly, it doesn’t surprise me. I am very proud to have been part of this project at the beginning and that it has such a long life today.
