There is movement at the top of the Netflix rankings. Wednesday debuts with a bang and enjoys the best start of an English-language series, dethroning the very popular Stranger Things.

twice better than Dahmer
Released on November 23 on Netflix, Wednesday therefore enjoys a hot start with 50 million EVC (Complete Viewing Equivalents) in a short week. It is twice as much as Dahmer (22 million), which was already impressive. Above all, the series recorded 341.2 million hours viewed in one week and broke the record held by season 4 of Stranger Thingsreleased last May.
At this rate, Wednesday should enter the top 10 American series next week. If this plebiscite is maintained, the show can even aim for an end of career between 120 and 140 million EVC, which would place it well above Stranger Things season 4 (103.7 million), Dahmer (100 million), but still far from the juggernaut Squid Game (246.6 million).
Anyway, a season 2 of Wednesday is obvious and is undoubtedly in the plans of Netflix. Something to delight the fans and the creators of the series, Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, who said they had planned “at least three or four seasons of potential storylines for the characters”.
