The 84-year-old Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr. ("An Officer and a Gentleman") is said to have contracted the coronavirus. The US celebrity portal "TMZ" reports, citing insiders from the actor's environment.
"Please wear masks"
A corresponding test was positive. At one point, Gossett Jr. is said to have been so bad that he could hardly stand. The 84-year-old was admitted to a hospital in Georgia, but is said to have left it after a few days of his own free will. The local situation frightened him.
Gossett Jr. is now in isolation with his son. He is said to have told the portal: "Please wear masks, engage in social distancing, isolate and listen to yourselves. We cannot survive without each other."
