Love is in the meadow returns this Monday evening to M6 for a colorful 17th season. 13 new candidates will play the game and try to find love under the cameras of M6. But not all of them are completely new. A farmer is making a comeback: Thierry, a winegrower who already took part in the show 7 years ago.
Thierry had a heartache during the tenth season
This is the first time in the show’s history that a candidate has tried his luck. It must be said that Thierry had touched the viewers a lot during the tenth season. He had been heartbroken because of one of his suitors. How did the production convince him to participate in the show a second time? “I said to myself: ‘They won’t come looking for you at 80’. And, at 65, it’s now or never. And then, I couldn’t believe it but I got a lot of letters and I received at least 400 letters. It’s impressive. I read everything but I didn’t want to see the photos this time. I made progress”.
Candidates who focus less on the physical
Thierry, more demanding therefore, this time, endeavored to judge the kindness of the contenders, rather than their physique. A requirement that Karine Le Marchand has seen in several candidates this season.
“As much as last year, we really had the feeling of having people who had really, physically and psychologically suffered from loneliness and who wanted to get out of it and who were really ready to take on maybe people who didn’t correspond to them” , explains the facilitator. “This year, we really have people who have almost all been burnt and who are still quite suspicious and who say, ‘I want the icing on the cake, but I don’t want the cake. The cake is me and me, I’m happy or happy alone. Yes, I’m alone, but I’m not ready to do anything and everything to find love.
