Lower Austria in traditional beer – breweries and farmers make the fields “enkelfit”

Four years ago, a pioneering project for soil health was started. The aim is to improve the fertility of the soil and life in the ground, increase the biodiversity within and above the soil and, if possible, bind CO2 in the soil in the long term. The farmers make independently and individually the selection of the appropriate measures for their fields. “We support the environment with balanced crop rotation, gentle tillage, efficient fertilization and, of course, fewer pesticides,” explains EGZ managing director Franz Bauer.
