LR deputies will have convergent proposals , assures Marleix

The president of the deputies Les Républicains Olivier Marleix said he was convinced on Tuesday that his group “will bring (it) convergent proposals” on the pension reform, while some members are threatening not to vote on the text.

The LR group, on which the government intends to rely to push through its project, is it divided? We are in extrapolations when dozens of slingers are mentioned, declared to the press Mr. Marleix, ensuring that we had no doubt that we would come up with convergent proposals.

The leaders of LR, who met Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne last week, were pleased to have snatched concessions, suggesting a vote in favor of the text. But since then, doubts have emerged about the support of some of the LR deputies who are asking for more in particular about long careers.

Asked in particular about the red lines of Aurlien Pradi, the new executive vice-president of the party, Mr. Marleix evoked a strategy, probably to obtain more. There are elements to improve in the government project and I share his feeling, he added.

And to repeat: The reform is necessary but the LRs do not give a blank check to the government.

We did not come to supplement the presidential majority, supported his side the deputy LR Emilie Bonnivard, recalling that the problem of the majority is that it is not in the majority.

Mr Marleix presented the subjects on which his group intends to present amendments: for a review clause after the legal retirement age has passed from 62 to 63, on family policy, the situation of women, the employment of seniors, fraud, survivors’ pensions and even long careers.

LR deputies will also defend, in terms of hardship, an enforceable right to professional retraining leave. They also want to discuss the date of entry into force of the reform, fixed in the summer by the executive, while it upsets the life projects of some.

Finally, Mr. Marleix hopes to introduce a share of collective capitalization to ensure the sustainability of our pension system.
