Unveiling his campaign slogan “the right to the heart”, the candidate for the presidency of LR, Éric Ciotti made his political comeback on Saturday evening in front of 4,000 people in his stronghold of the Alpes-Maritimes. His appearance on stage sums up the stature taken by Éric Ciotti in barely a year. 2,000 people gathered last year, double last night, in favor of the shock treatment advocated by Dr. Ciotti for Les Républicains.
A “breaking project”
“For a patient in intensive care, some advocated homeopathy, and well I offer shock therapy, we must straighten out our political family, advocating a real plan of rupture”, declares Eric Ciotti. The latter plays at home in front of the elected officials and supporters of his region. As a response to critics who say he is unable to collect. “What we did in the Alpes-Maritimes, a union which allowed us to bring five out of nine deputies to the Assembly, which means that if the Alpes-Maritimes were France, we would have an absolute majority, well I want to transpose it to our political family and to France”, he continues.
“Our activists must come back”
In the race for the presidency of LR, the Niçois wants to thwart the forecasts. For this, he is counting on his federation of the Alpes-Maritimes, the second most powerful of the Republicans, but appeals to all voters.
“The result of the presidential election has disappointed many of our activists, they have to come back, others have to join, if we really want to build a right-wing party, they have to seize this luck, they have to vote, wherever they come from,” said Ciotti. A wink, among others, to those who favored Éric Zemmour over Valérie Pécresse last April. And, proof of the importance of the number of cards for this ballot, the small paper slipped Saturday evening under each plate: a bulletin of adhesion to the Republicans.
