A Senate report sounds the alarm about gender transition among minors. This parliamentary report should lead to a bill proposed by the Republicans aimed at more strictly regulating sex change before the age of 18.
Should we ban gender transitions among minors? A Senate report recommends it. If it is impossible today to change sex in the civil registry before the age of 18, some minors begin their physical transition before they come of age. It is difficult to quantify this phenomenon since there is no official data. However, according to the feelings of many health professionals, requests have exploded in recent years. The Republicans are preparing a bill aimed at more strictly regulating sex change before the age of 18.
A phenomenon that is growing, according to Senator LR
Banning so-called “sexual reassignment” surgery for minors and hormonal treatments such as puberty blockers is the objective of Jacqueline Eustache-Brinio. According to Senator LR from Val-d’Oise, “the sexual transition of young people could become one of the biggest ethical scandals in the history of medicine”. In his eyes, the phenomenon is growing, encouraged by associations, sometimes even in schools.
“There is a whole section of transactivists who say: ‘we must listen to the feelings’. Perhaps we need to take time to get to the end of a child’s feelings because the feelings can last a year, two years and then things can change… There are trans activists who go to schools today because we let them in. Well no! It’s like Islamist activists, they don’t have place at school! We must not open the school to any form of activism,” she decided.
Enforce the principle of neutrality in schools
Jacqueline Eustache-Brinio calls on the government to enforce the principle of neutrality in schools as soon as possible. She also wants to have a bill examined before the summer to purely and simply prohibit the sex change of minors.
