Barely presented, already criticized. The new organization chart of the Republicans, presented by Éric Ciotti, stirs up the anger of Bruno Retailleau. Senator LR, who arrived in the second round of the LR congress, considers himself aggrieved. Within the party, many believe that these tensions “symbolize the ambiguities of the right”.

It’s an organization chart that causes a stir. The new leader of the Republicans, Eric Ciotti, has offered around fifty positions to his relatives, but also to those of his former opponents Aurélien Pradier, who has become vice-president LR. But for his part, Senator LR Bruno Retailleau, is not at all satisfied with the new distribution of positions.

Voters not sufficiently respected for Retailleau

The boss of the LR senators is angry with Éric Ciotti for having broken the agreement he would have made a few hours before the publication of the organization chart. Bruno Retailleau believes that the 46% of voters who voted for him in the second round are not sufficiently respected. The latter regrets in particular a too weak representation of his relatives within the new strategic committee of the party.

So, beyond the positions, it is above all the nature of the relationship between the two men that is at stake. “I cannot bring myself to work in distrust”, declares Bruno Retailleau in the columns of the newspaper Le Figaro. No question, however, of giving rise to any fratricidal war.

A symbol of “the ambiguities of the right”

The two figures of the Republicans are well aware of the obligation for the party to come together and appear united, especially in the midst of the retreat sequence. Nevertheless, the new organization chart is widely commented internally. True “Mexican army” for some, “symbol of the ambiguities of the right” for others, the tandem Aurélien Pradier and François-Xavier Bellamy in particular, leaves doubtful.

“It’s red and black”, analyzes a framework about the two new number two of the party. “At the antipodes both humanly and in terms of ideas,” he says.
