How the pricing table works

To celebrate its 60th anniversary in style, the famous English audiophile brand KEF has just announced the upcoming release of a pair of Hi-Fi, wireless and connected speakers: the LS60 Wireless. Inspired by the LS50 Wireless II, they take on the refined look but adopt a column format which makes them much more imposing than their little sisters. The LS60 Wireless are therefore beautiful babies of 31.2 kg each, culminating at more than one meter (109 x 21.2 x 39.4 cm). Each enclosure rests on a plinth slightly raising the base. According to the manufacturer, this would allow a flow of air to circulate in order to limit the overheating of the electronic elements located in the speakers.

KEF has paid particular attention to the acoustic architecture of its new loudspeakers. Like the LS50 Wireless II, there is a 12th generation Uni-Q coaxial speaker in the center responsible for reproducing the medium and high frequencies. This is supported by two class D amplifiers and benefits from “Metamaterial Absorption” technology which reduces distortion and unwanted colorations while offering better dispersion in the room.

This whole system is supported by four 13.5 cm Uni-Core speakers placed back to back in order to limit the vibrations of the enclosure and to optimize the size. Inherited from the mythical Blade speaker, these speakers should allow the speaker to enjoy a precise and powerful reproduction of low frequencies. All these beautiful people ultimately form a three-way system of 1400 W, which is almost double the power compared to the LS50 Wireless II. Here are some additional features:

  • frequency response (+/- 3 dB) at 85 dB / 1 m: 31 Hz – 24 kHz
  • decoding of PCM streams up to 24 bits / 384 kHz
  • support for DSD and MQA formats
  • compatible audio formats: FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, AAC, WMA, MP3, M4A, LPCM and Ogg Vorbis

The LS60 Wireless are jam-packed with all kinds of connectors. On the back of one of the speakers there is: an HDMI eARC input, an optical port, a digital coaxial input, two RCA plugs, an RJ45 socket to connect the system to a home network and an output to connect a subwoofer. bass. The two speakers can be connected to each other either wirelessly or via the RJ45 port provided for this purpose. The LS60 Wireless obviously include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. They are also supported by the KEF Connect mobile application with which it is possible to interconnect the speakers to almost all the streaming services available on the market (Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, etc.). The AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect, UPnP and consort protocols are also included.

Available in three colors – Titanium Grey, Mineral White and Royal Blue – the LS60 Wireless will be available for sale from next June for a whopping €6,599 per pair.
