Luca de Meo: “Our cars will become big internet platforms”

MAINTENANCE – The automobile of tomorrow will be electric, ultra-connected, autonomous, and will offer a battery of services within a transformed cabin.

As part of the next Big Bang Figaro of the economy which will be broadcast on lefigaro.fr mornings from June 27 to 29, Luca de Meo explains how the automobile is changing with the technological revolution.

LE FIGARO. – In 2035, only electric cars can be marketed in Europe. Will the models you will be offering in thirteen years be very different from today’s electric cars?

Luca DEMEO. – Thirteen years is more or less two product cycles, in other words two generations. During this period, we will make considerable progress on batteries and energy management with a double objective, faster recharges and improved autonomy. I think that in 2035, the autonomy of the electric car will exceed that of combustion cars. As for the recharge time, it is closely linked to the batteries and the infrastructures. It is possible to increase the power of the terminals and therefore reduce the charging time…
