According to a Lucid Motors spokesperson, the Lucid Air electric sedan will make its European debut sometime in June or July. Germany would be the first target market.
The electric sedan segment may not be the most contested of all – electric SUVs being the current big stars of the catalogs – but some manufacturers are still eyeing this category of vehicles. This is particularly the case of the young American company Lucid Motors.
In September 2020, this Californian manufacturer caused a sensation by lifting the veil on its Lucid Air: an electrified sedan with overflowing autonomy, which should climb to more than 830 kilometers depending on the version chosen. This competitor of the Tesla Model S has assets to assert that it intends to exploit.
See you this summer… but what about France?
In this regard, the first European customers should soon be able to test the beast and see what it has in the belly. Because according to a brand spokesperson who spoke to Coachthe first Lucid Air intended for Europe should land this summer, in June or July more precisely.
For the time being, it is not known which markets will benefit first, although Germany is well on its way to being the lucky one. In the process, Lucid Motors should continue its offensive in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland or even Norway.
Surprisingly, France is not mentioned in this list, while France is an important European market for electric cars. Or at least more important than some of the other nations mentioned above.
Over 20,000 orders
Logically, Lucid Motors should favor its most expensive models for its launch on the Old Continent, for which we do not know the exact number of orders placed. In total, the group, on the other hand, would have accumulated more than 25,000 orders worldwide, for only 400 models produced, 300 of which were delivered to its customers.
In any case, it will be interesting to stay on the lookout and carry out a full test of this high-end sedan with certain ambitions, which could give the Tesla Model S Plaid a hard time.
