Lufthansa: soars by 3%, raises its forecasts again

(CercleFinance.com) – The stock rose nearly 3% after the announcement of an upward revision of forecasts for 2022.

The group continues to see strong demand for air travel. Average yields in the passenger sector remain well above pre-crisis levels.

October and November results exceeded expectations. The booking situation for the coming months indicates a continuation of the positive trend in the group’s passenger activities.

The group therefore expects to be able to generate an adjusted EBIT of around 1.5 billion euros in the 2022 financial year. It had already revised its forecast upwards at the end of last October.

The carrier expected at the end of October a profit before interest and taxes (Ebit) of more than one billion euros in 2022. He previously envisaged it around 500 million euros.

It anticipated capacities representing 80% of their 2019 levels for the fourth quarter, which should allow it to generate a positive operating result over the last three months of the year.
