Lukas Podolski is deeply affected by the earthquake disaster. The soccer star organizes help for the victims in Turkey.

Lukas Podolski (37), who was a professional soccer player in Turkey for several years, helps after the earthquake disaster. He shared a post on Instagramwhich states that today, Thursday (February 9), “the entire proceeds of all Mangal x Lukas Podolski kebab shops will be donated to the victims of the earthquake catastrophe”.

Podolski also told the “Bild” newspaper: “My family spends a lot of holidays in Turkey, we have a property near Bodrum. We love the country and want to help!” They wanted to “set a signal so that as many people as possible donate money. That’s a matter of course for me,” said the soccer star, who collects money with his business partner Metin Dag (45). In Turkey they buy “winter jackets, hats, scarves, thermal blankets”. He added: “We want to load two or three trucks as quickly as possible and try to get to the crisis areas.”

Two clubs in Turkey

The 2014 soccer world champion opened his first kebab shop “Mangal Döner” in 2018 with business partner Metin Dag. After his stints at FC Köln, Bayern Munich and FC Arsenal, Podolski was under contract with Galatasaray Istanbul in the Turkish Süper Lig from 2015 to 2017. Later he also played for Antalyaspor.
