Lukas Podolski becomes a juror for “Das Supertalent”. The broadcaster RTL has now confirmed this. Further broadcasts with him are to follow.

Football world champion Lukas Podolski (36) becomes a juror for “Das Supertalent”. This was confirmed by the broadcaster RTL on Tuesday (June 29th). The 36-year-old will be on the show from autumn. As part of a “far-reaching cooperation”, Podolski will also be involved in “other entertainment shows as well as in the sports sector”.

“I’ve always enjoyed watching ‘Das Supertalent’ with my family, now I’ll soon be sitting on the jury chair myself,” says Podolski happily. “I’m looking forward to these and other new challenges at my new club. And that in my hometown of Cologne.” At the press conference on his new job, the 36-year-old said that he would definitely need some start-up time: “It’s something new.” Among the future candidates, he is particularly looking forward to the children performing on the show.

“New Direction”

In the 15th season of “Das Supertalent” the footballer will also see talented singers, acrobats, comedians and funny animal tricks. The casting tour runs until July 10th. RTL will soon announce who will be on the jury next to Podolski.

In March it became known that pop titan Dieter Bohlen (67) will no longer be on the juries of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” and “Das Supertalent” (also at TVNow) will sit. He “does not want to replace Bohlen”, explained Podolski: “What he has achieved in recent years has been great,” but now there is a new direction and new people on the show.
