Comedian Luke Mockridge (34) speaks openly about what is probably the worst time of his life. After the serious allegations against him, the 34-year-old was forcibly admitted to a clinic, the comedian said in the Podcast “If I Had Known Before” his colleagues Joyce Ilg (39) and Chris Halb 12.

In September 2021, a former partner made allegations against him. He had rejected the allegations, and the Cologne public prosecutor’s office discontinued proceedings. As a result, however, a shitstorm rained down on the TV star, from which he was unable to recover for a long time.

He has already experienced many shitstorms, Mockridge looks back in the podcast. But they were limited to the microcosm of social media. With the public prejudice after the allegations, however, this was different: “The shit ran out of the cell phone and started to change my environment, my life”. His brother was even thrown out of the driving school, as the comedian had previously reported on stage.

Environment pulled the ripcord: three months in the clinic

At some point, those around him pulled the ripcord. “I was then forcibly admitted and spent three months in the clinic,” Mockridge continued. “You come into a protected space, because then it was all very concrete … and went into an area where I had to be protected,” says the comedian. He did not reveal exactly who instructed him.

However, Luke Mockridge is optimistic about the future. After initially going through a phase of grief and anger, he reflected on himself and learned from the crisis: “I feel so strengthened and happy and optimistic for the rest of my life that I just want to show it to the outside world a lot more – it keeps going.”
