Last month came out Forspoken, the first game of Luminous Productions, which unfortunately did not seduce the crowds and whose technical improvements are expected soon. The studio was opened by Square-Enix in 2018 headed by the director of Final Fantasy XV, before he left his post and the company. We must believe that the idea of this separate entity was not a good idea from the start, since we now learn that it will disappear as of May 1, 2023 by merging with Square-Enix with the aim of strengthening the capacities of the group according to the Press release.
The team obviously took the floor to discuss this news and what it means for Forspoken.
An update from Luminous Productions
You may have heard the news of Luminous Productions merging with Square Enix. Starting May 1, our talented team will join Square Enix in bringing innovative new gaming experiences to gamers around the world.
Until then, we remain fully focused on Forspoken. We are currently working on the previously announced patch to improve overall game performance (we will update you soon) and downloadable content, “In Tanta We Trust,” is on track to release this summer. Thanks again for your patience and support!
When we established Luminous Productions in 2018, our vision was to create AAA games that combine technology and artistry to deliver completely new gaming experiences. Getting the chance to do just that has been a dream come true. We appreciate you taking this journey with us, and we look forward to continuing to create new entertainment and experiences within the Square Enix family.
Sincerely,
The Luminous Productions team
In the end, back to square one for the staff who were there during the Business Division 2. Whether Forspoken interests you, it is on sale on Amazon from €56.95.
