Luna Schweiger
“I’m the bravest in the family” – at home she keeps everyone on their toes
Five days in complete darkness: In the Amazon Prime show “Lights Out,” Luna Schweiger faces her great fear. Her family can only shake their heads, as the actress reveals to GALA.
Luna Schweiger faces her fears in streaming format: “I really wasn’t feeling so well”
“I was very afraid of going blind as a child. I don’t know what triggered it, but my mom still talks about it a lot today. I couldn’t have anything black in my room because it meant I would go blind “I had a real thing about it and that’s why the show was actually a good chance to get rid of it,” says Luna Schweiger in the GALA interview about her participation.
Schweiger remembers that the days in the darkness had a pretty strong effect on her body: her concentration waned and fatigue became overwhelming. “I was so lethargic, I actually just wanted to sleep. I really wasn’t feeling well in that darkness,” reports the actress, adding: “I didn’t really have the energy to think about it there.”
Grew up in the shadow of father Til Schweiger
Candidate Gloria-Sophie Burkandt, 25, asked her at the beginning of the program that Schweiger had to be careful about what she said in front of the camera, as it could ultimately reflect on her famous father. However, the 27-year-old only has a limited understanding of this, as she explains to GALA: “In the end, I’m allowed to say what I want because I’m my own person, but of course I grew up that way. I have an intuition for what’s smart and what is not so smart to say.”
As the daughter of film star Til Schweiger, the young woman has been under observation since her birth. In the acting industry, she has to assert herself even more strongly compared to other newcomers. Her father’s last name opens doors, but it also causes persistent prejudices. There are also her three siblings Valentin, 29, Lilli, 26, and Emma, 21, who all work in the show industry.
“I am known in our family as an adventurer”
However, the children of the “Inglourious Basterds” star have never been seen in a reality format – until now. Schweiger’s family is said to have reacted with as much astonishment as the public when they found out about their participation in “Lights Out”. “They found it really violent. They said: ‘There’s no way I would do that. You’re crazy! Why would you voluntarily spend five days in the dark?'” says Luna Schweiger in an interview.
At home, however, the actress has long been known for her determination and daring. “I’m known as an adventurer in our family anyway. I’m always told that I’m the bravest in the family, so in the end it didn’t surprise them at all that I did it,” reveals the “Tatort” – Actress.
A separate family show for the Schweigers? Luna would be there!
That’s why it’s Luna who, of all the Schweigers, would most likely see herself in a family reality TV show like “These Ochsenknechts” or “The Kardashians”. “I think it would be very funny. Many friends tell me that we are a very funny and open family, but of course you would have to discuss that with the siblings and everyone. They tend to be out and about for private purposes, but I could certainly imagine that imagine,” the 27-year-old hints to GALA.
Her mother Dana Schweiger, 56, was followed by cameras for the first time in 2012 for her own reality show “Simply Dana.” In 2016, she took part in the VOX documentary “6 Mothers: Between Child and Career” and since October 10, 2024, Til Schweiger’s ex-wife has been on “The Traitors – Trust Nobody!” to see.
