The recent State of Play has brought its share of surprises and among them we find LUNAR Remastered Collection, a compilation that will bring together the two role-playing games LUNAR: Silver Star Story Complete and LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Complete. These are therefore remasters of the remakes of the games initially released on Mega-CD in 1992 and 1994, it remains to be seen whether it is the PS1 or Saturn versions that were used. It is again GungHo Online Entertainment who is behind this initiative, already at work on GRANDIA HD Collection which saw PS4 and Xbox One versions earlier this year. This will put more than one account off, as the latter was released with quite a few technical issues.
LUNAR Remastered Collection will be released this spring on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC (Steam). Oddly enough, there is no Xbox Series X|S logo, even though the consoles’ names are present in the legal notices, and GungHo just mentions an exit on Xbox without further details…
As stated on the PlayStation Blog, these remasters will benefit from updated graphics and sounds, as well as various improvements such as widescreen support, HD animated cinematics, but also a brand new English dub. It will also be possible to choose between original and modernized visualswhile the clashes can be accelerated. And there will be a localization for the first time in French and German in addition to English and Japanese!

Lunar: Silver Star Story
Lunar: Silver Star Story begins in the peaceful village of Burg, where a boy named Alex dreams of great adventures inspired by the tale of the dragon master Dyne. Drawn to adventure and treasure, Alex and his friends embark on a quest, but with the sudden emergence of the Magic Emperor who wishes to control the world, it is up to them to fight the growing evil and save the world from peril.
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue
Set 1,000 years after Lunar: Silver Star Story, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue follows a young adventurer named Hiro, who encounters a mysterious visitor from the Blue Star while exploring an ancient tower. Named Lucia, she insists on being taken to the ruler of their world, the goddess Althena. Together, Hiro and Lucia encounter the greatest allies, the worst enemies, and the darkest forces of destruction that threaten all of creation.
