Lustenau in front of the title – Goalie Schierl: “That was the right answer”

Austria Lustenau could already secure the second division title and thus promotion to the Bundesliga on Friday. A Salzburg duo is therefore on the way to the top. Salzburg’s one-goalie emphasized: “We have it in our own hands.”

More than 3,500 fans came to the Lustenau Reichshof Stadium for the morning matinee on Sunday. And they saw how Austria sent St. Pölten, who had been relegated to the Bundesliga, confidently 3-0 home, again past FAC to the top of the table in the 2nd division 2-0 over BW Linz who had put the Lustenauer under pressure. At least one Viennese player sounded in the direction of Ländle: “Lustenau will now seem…”. What the Mader-Elf didn’t do. “I think it was the right answer. We could have won even more”, said the Pongauer one-goalie of the Ländle squad, Domenik Schierl. But we solved it confidently.” This “problem” no longer exists: In the last two rounds, all games are scheduled at the same time. And if things go well, Lustenau could secure the title and promotion in Horn on Friday.Lustenau was last in the Oberhaus in 1999/2000. But we are assuming that the fight for the title will continue until the last day of the game.” Lustenau could then climb back up to the top flight for the first time since 2000. “It’s important that we have it in our own hands,” said the 27-year-old St. Johanner Schierl. Like Schierl, defender Berger attended the Bulls Academy in Liefering. He mostly came off the bench as a joker in the spring. Schierl meanwhile played through all 28 games of the season.
