"Faced with the risk of shortage observed in France, Bernard Arnault asked the perfumes and cosmetics branch of LVMH to mobilize its production capacities to manufacture and offer to the public authorities significant quantities of hydroalcoholic gel". Here is the release that the big luxury group LVMH just transmitted.

These gels will be distributed free of charge to French health authorities and in particular to the 39 establishments of the Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), as of this Monday. An initiative that will be maintained "as long as necessary," says the group.

According to AFP, twelve tons products will be produced this week, then more the following weeks. The AP-HP knew of "supply tensions on hydroalcoholic gels, but no shortage of stock," said a spokesperson.

The director general of the AP-HP, Martin Hirsch, "thanks LVMH for its responsiveness: they made us a proposal on Saturday at 9 p.m., which materialized on Sunday at 3 p.m.", he declared to the 'AFP.

The pharmaceutical group Sanofi announced last Friday the creation of a seed fund to "support the research effort of the AP-HP teams" mobilized in the face of the epidemic, to which the investment company Tikehau Capital, for its part, will donate an undisclosed amount.
