Lynk & Co allows its customers to easily sublet their car

Lynk & Co is a brand from the Chinese giant Geely which intends to respond to new consumption patterns. Among the manufacturer’s promises, Lynk & Co notably planned to allow its customers to make their vehicle available to its car-sharing service.

This feature is now launched in France. Buyers and renters of the SUV 01, pre-equipped for this use, can therefore offer their vehicle for short-term rental. “The idea behind this is that cars can and should be used more efficiently, increasing access to mobility for all through car sharing, without adding new vehicles to already congested urban spaces.”explains Lynk & Co.

An hourly rate defined by the owners

SUV 01 owners and renters can set their own hourly rate. This offer was already available in other countries. The lowest average price was found in Sweden, at €9/hour, and the highest in Italy, at €30/hour. The Netherlands was the most attracted by this offer, with 22% of Lynk & Co 01 drivers having already used it. This rate reached 16% across all markets where the offer was launched.

Compared to other peer-to-peer (C2C) rental services, such as Turo which has just arrived in France, Lynk & Co wanted to simplify the user experience. Everything happens on the application, as with B2C car-sharing services, and Lynk & Co insures the vehicles for this use. It is therefore easy to make your vehicle available when you are not using it. Remember that a car spends on average 96% of its lifespan parked.
