About twenty firefighters, accompanied by five machines, intervened this Tuesday evening, shortly after 10:15 p.m., for a fire in a residential building at 4 rue Pleney (Lyon 1er).
The fire broke out on the ground floor of a four-storey building in a store located opposite the famous Léon de Lyon restaurant.
Residents confined and then evacuated
The fire was quickly contained. The inhabitants of the building, initially confined to their homes because of the presence of thick smoke in the common areas, were then evacuated.
At 10:45 p.m., while the firefighters were busy bringing the flames under control, the fire and rescue services of the Métropole and the Rhône (SDMIS) reported no injuries.
For the time being, the reasons for the outbreak of the fire remain unknown.
