A newborn baby was found dead on the balcony of the apartment where his mother had just given birth on Saturday evening, in the 9e district of Lyon, reports the regional daily Progress . An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy, the prosecution confirmed to Actu Lyon.

The lifeless body of the newborn would have been discovered a few moments later by the father, who called the Samu and tried to resuscitate him in vain. The latter would not have been aware of the pregnancy of his companion, 34 years old and already the mother of three children. A little earlier in the evening, he had discovered traces of blood, put on the account of gynecological problems by the thirty-something.
Very shocked, she was hospitalized and will be heard as part of the investigation. An autopsy will be performed, specifies the regional daily, in order to determine if the death of the child occurred before or after birth. According to the first elements, his body would not bear any suspicious traces.
