No big events planned this weekend in Lyon, but several meetings are nevertheless on the program. After a break last weekend, the Lyon collective for freedom, which has been mobilizing for months to demand the repeal of the health pass or the reinstatement of suspended caregivers, will be on the streets again this Saturday from 2 p.m. in Bellecour .

Against rape in Ukraine

Also note this May 28, at 5 p.m., in Bellecour, a rally will take place to denounce the rape of women in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused the Russian occupier in mid-April of “hundreds of cases of rape”. Women have demonstrated in recent days, notably in Tallinn in Estonia or Brussels in Belgium to demand justice for these Ukrainian women.

Sunday, May 29, from 2 p.m., still Place Bellecour, the association Idir hope and solidarity calls for a demonstration against “prison violence and deaths in prison, and for the closure of mitards and isolation areas”. The day of action is national.

The Lyon association was created after the death at the mitard on September 22, 2020 of a young man from Brignais, Idir Mederess, in circumstances which, according to his relatives, “are not determined”.
