Lyon: Part-Dieu station evacuated for two hours because of a mine clearance operation

The police intervened because of three abandoned luggage. Trains showed up to 1h30 late.

Part-Dieu station in Lyon was partially evacuated on Monday January 2 in the middle of the afternoon, due to a mine clearance operation that lasted two hours. The deminers had to intervene because of the presence of three abandoned pieces of luggage, in front of a sales area at the station.

A security perimeter had been set up, causing the partial stoppage of train traffic. The latter posted up to 1h30 late.

The demining operation ended at 5:15 p.m., and traffic has very gradually resumed. However, shortly before 7 p.m., the TER trains serving Clermont-Ferrand, Mâcon or Chambéry were still 10 to 20 minutes late.
