A 21-year-old man was indicted on Tuesday for several rapes and was imprisoned. He is suspected of having forced several women to have sex by threatening to broadcast intimate photos of them. In all, eleven victims have been counted by the investigators, some of whom have filed a complaint for the moment.
In November 2021, a 15-year-old girl filed a complaint in Lyon for a rape of which she had been the victim a few days earlier in a hotel on 7e arrondissement. On social networks, she had agreed to send photos of them naked to a man who had contacted him. The latter then asked her for more pictures, threatening to broadcast those already in her possession. Faced with the victim’s refusal, he offered her a meeting that the young girl said she accepted “by fear“. Once at the hotel, he had imposed a sexual relationship on her, always threatening to broadcast his intimate photos.

Suspect denies rape
After several months of meticulous investigations, the investigators were able to identify the suspect and found that similar acts had been committed in Saint-Étienne by the same individual. He was arrested and taken into custody, during which he admitted pressuring the minor with the photographs but denied coercion into the sexual act.
The exploitation of his mobile phone made it possible to establish that the suspect had set up a real recurring scheme to obtain sexual relations by threatening to broadcast on the Internet intimate photographs of his victims, minors or young adults, contacted on websites meeting.
According to our information, in another hearing, the defendant always denied the rapes but “admitted to having behaved disrespectfully towards women”explaining that it followed a difficult breakup.
