The number of annual rentals of Vélo’v, Lyon’s self-service bicycles, broke a record in 2022. In all, the service recorded 10.5 million rentals (+19%), compared to 9.1 million in 2021, which was already a record. At the end of December 2022, nearly 84,000 long-term subscribers were registered, a figure up 10% compared to last year, again a record.

This rental record for the Vélo’v service, combined with the +12% traffic increase for all bicycle traffic in 2022 on the territory of the Métropole de Lyon, confirms the dynamics of the bicycle, which is today a means of full-fledged travel for more and more of our inhabitants“said Fabien Bagnon, vice-president of the Métropole de Lyon in charge of mobility.
