From this Saturday, February 26 at 9:10 p.m., M6 will broadcast season 4, still unpublished in France, of MacGyver, at the rate of 3 episodes per evening. Composed of only 13 episodes, the season having been shortened following the interruption of filming in March 2020, this new burst of episodes takes place a year and a half after the dismantling of the Phoenix Foundation.
The various members of the team live very bland lives compared to their previous jobs, although Mac and Desi are finally a couple. Until Russel Taylor, CEO of Spearhead Operations, a private military company, contacted them.
On the casting side, Lucas Till, Tristin Mays, Justin Hires, Meredith Eaton and Levy Tran return for this season 4. Henry Ian Cusick, who we previously saw in The 100 and Lost, joins the cast to play Russ Taylor , a wealthy former soldier who will reform the team in order to find a biological weapon as quickly as possible.
The actors Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Picard, Body of Proof) and Tate Donovan (Newport Beach) will also make appearances for a few episodes of this season 4. The first will camp Gwen, the hero’s aunt while the second will will slip into the skin of James “Jimmy” MacGyver, father of Angus MacGyver.
These newcomers are intended to make people forget George Eads alias Jack Dalton, who announced at the end of season 3 his desire to leave the series. The reason given: the location of the filming (Atlanta) kept him away from his daughter.
In reality, the actor would have had an altercation during the filming of an episode of season 3. If the reasons for this incident are not known, he would have told the production of his desire to leave the fiction following of this event.
