Scott received $ 36 billion in shares from Bezos after her divorce and pledged to donate large chunks of her fortune. In July, the 50-year-old announced that she would support 116 charitable organizations with 1.7 billion dollars (approx. 1.4 billion euros). In her blog post "348 Ways to Help", she said she had donated another $ 4,158,500,000 to 384 organizations. Scott used the money to support organizations in all 50 US states. She was advised by a team that contacted "hundreds of experts, founders, heads of non-profit organizations and volunteers" to distribute the donations.
