Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife files for divorce from her new husband

After less than two years, Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife MacKenzie Scott has filed for divorce from her second husband.
US billionaire MacKenzie Scott (52) has filed for divorce from her second husband Dan Jewett after less than two years of marriage. The New York Times reports. Scott is the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (58), and helped her first husband to initially build the shipping giant in the 1990s. Scott tied the knot with Jewett earlier this year. He previously taught as a teacher at Bezos’ and Scott’s children’s private school in Seattle, Washington.
Court documents show that Jewett did not contest the divorce filing. The division of goods is regulated in a separation agreement. Neither party commented on the process.

The New York Times estimates Scott’s net worth at around $28 billion. In the past three years alone, she has donated $12 billion to charity. Since her divorce from Bezos, Scott has been among the wealthiest individuals on the planet. For the current year, she ranks 30th on the Forbes list of the richest people in the worldand is listed as the fourth wealthiest woman.
