PARIS (Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron has called on his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to allow the continued evacuation of Ukrainian civilians who have taken refuge in the Azovstal factory in Mariupol, the Elysee Palace reported on Tuesday.

During a telephone conversation that lasted 2 hours and 10 minutes, the first between the two leaders since March 29, Emmanuel Macron also said he was ready to “work with the competent international organizations to help lift the Russian blockade of Ukrainian food exports by the Black Sea”, adds the French presidency.
