PARIS (Reuters) – Emmanuel Macron on Monday called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to resume dialogue to end their conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Negotiations must resume,” said the French president when receiving Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian at the Elysée Palace.

“France is convinced that the use of force cannot be the solution, no more for Armenia than for Azerbaijan, that dialogue must be restored without delay”, insisted Emmanuel Macron.

Armenia and Azerbaijan on Friday accused each other of breaking the ceasefire agreed days earlier to end the worst spike in violence between the two countries since 2020.
