NOTDon’t be fooled by appearances: the appearance on social networks of Emmanuel Macron in a hooded sweatshirt – known as a hoodie in contemporary textile grammar – does not signify a relaxation of function. Quite the contrary. We are very far from the risky sidestep that the president’s polo shirt look had constituted to give some news from the Covid front this summer: the translation of this piece of sportswear in a context of institutional speaking does not rhyme indeed in France only with mixed memories. In particular in times of health crisis – it is the model “Jean-François Mattei reassures the French in the heat wave of 2003 in a little Lacoste polo shirt”, a complete way of fashion from the political gadin. Not so in this black hoodie.
The batch cooking of the great chefs
