“Macron Murderer!” : Philippe Corbé very angry with Eric Zemmour after his meeting at the Trocadéro

For almost an hour, Éric Zemmour gave a big meeting on the Place du Trocadéro in Paris this Sunday, March 27. But during his speech, a sequence particularly shocked. For about ten seconds, the crowd chanted the slogan “Macron assassin”, without being cut off by the presidential candidate. A moment denounced by the journalist of BFMTV, Philippe Corbé.

Words that do not pass. This Sunday, March 27, Eric Zemmour gave a big meeting on the Place du Trocadéro in Paris. But while the presidential Reconquest candidate denounced Emmanuel Macron’s record, the crowd made up of tens of thousands of its activists chanted the slogan for several seconds “Macron Murderer”.

This sequence came after the former polemicist mentioned several news items, to highlight the laxity of Justice according to him. “What makes me indignant is the daily dramas that you suffer. What makes me indignant is that we will never console the children of Sarah Halimli or Mireille Knoll. What has revolted me for too long is the resignation of politicians, of the government who say that it is inevitable. There is no fatality”he launched, before the crowd began his shocking remarks, without being interrupted by the candidate.

Philippe Corbé: “If he heard, it’s very serious”

Barely finished the speech of Éric Zemmour, the journalist of BFMTV Philippe Corbe denounced the accusations from the public. “What does killer mean? It means premeditated murder. What is this crowd saying? That the President of the Republic premeditated the death of French. This is extremely serious!”he said, before pointing out the attitude of Éric Zemmour during this sequence: “At that moment, there is a moment of truth, regardless of the candidate. The candidate has to, if he wants to live up to the job he aspires to, say, ‘Wait, you can’t say that. I denounce the security policy of this president. I believe that he is responsible for such and such a situation which led to the death of such and such a person. But you can’t say he planned those murders. It is not up to our effort. It’s a moment of truth.”

Philippe Corbé nevertheless indicated that he was possiblethat Éric Zemmour did not hear what was being said in the crowd”. “I saw him impressed by the crowd, and we understand that because there were tens of thousands of people. But if he heard it, it’s very serious”concluded the journalist.

But Philippe Corbé was not the only one to have been shocked by this slogan, which also caused an outcry within the political class. “Someone who doesn’t have the capacity to ask the crowd to stop chanting “Macron, assassin!” is unworthy of a position as a politician“, quickly reacted the president of the LREM group to the National Assembly, Christophe Castaner. Same indignation for candidate LR in the presidential election, Valerie Pécresse. “I strongly fight the outgoing president but letting an opponent be treated as a murderer is dangerous for the Republic. This is definitely not right! That’s not my France”wrote on Twitter the president of the Île-de-France region.
