Emmanuel Macron spoke Thursday evening October 27 at the Elysée Palace with a delegation of rights defenders, in particular members of two Ukrainian and Russian NGOs who received the Nobel Peace Prize, on the occasion of the centenary of the Federation Human Rights Organization (FIDH).
The Elysée underlinedthe opportunity for the Head of State to salute the essential work of these actors and of FIDH for the defense of human rights and to recall that they play a central role in France’s fight against impunity in the face of war crimes and abuses perpetrated in the context of armed conflict, manipulation of information, abusive prosecution of rights defenders and denial of women’s rights“.

Among the delegation led by FIDH President Alice Mogwe was a member of the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties, Oleksandra Matvichuk, and the Memorial Center for Human Rights, Anastasia Garina, “whose vital work in documenting war crimes was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this year“, recalled the French presidency.
