“Ihere is something most symbolic. In a suit, without a tie, Édouard Philippe speaks to a handful of activists gathered in a bar at 12e Parisian district, nestled under the vaults of an old railway line. In the middle of a tour for the legislative elections, the former Prime Minister stops in the 7e constituency of the capital to support the candidate of Ensemble Clément Beaune, standing at his side. For his first election, the Minister Delegate in charge of Europe wanted to present himself in this bobo corner of the east of Paris, his city of heart. This was without counting the thunderclap on the evening of the first round: the candidate of Nupes, Caroline Mécary, came out on top (41.4% against 35.8%).
