IThere are no written conclusions at the end of an informal Board meeting. However, the deliberations of European leaders in Prague have moved towards a more coherent response to the energy crisis. The four avenues mentioned by the European Commission in its letter to leaders were weighed and under-weighed on Friday. The Commission is proposing to expand the RePowerUE plan (more than 200 billion in loans and 20 billion euros in grants) but it has not, at this stage, quantified the expansion of the envelope or how it intends to finance it . “There is still a lot of work to be done,” said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the end of these two days of summits, the first of which was devoted to the European Political Community.
